Brief description of the project:
Founded in 2006, Alfaseed Kft. is a Hungarian family-owned company engaged in plant breeding, variety maintenance, seed multiplication and seed sales. In recent years, the company has continuously increased its processing capacity because, thanks to its breeding results, the quantity of seed produced has multiplied. Alongside production, it is the seed plant that ties up the most energy, human resources and equipment for the business.
To achieve these goals, the company submitted an application under the call for proposals with reference number GINOP_PLUSZ-1.2.1-21-2021-01890 entitled “Establishing production and processing capacity at Alfaseed Kft.”, under which it became eligible for a conditionally non-refundable grant of HUF 202,384,204, co-financed by the European Union. Aid intensity: 70%. The project was implemented under the Széchenyi Plan Plus programme.

As part of the project, a 1,200 m² hall suitable for storage and raw material intake was built, directly connected to a processing and warehouse building. The two buildings are also functionally linked. The new building houses a separate, independently managed smart finished-goods warehouse equipped with an RF ID T-home storage system, where every single package is registered individually, and the forklift (smart map) shows where the package being searched for is located within the warehouse system. The business cloud service makes the information systems accessible regardless of workstation, so that employees can stay up to date on changes and information in real time, even remotely.
In addition to the infrastructure and real estate investment, the project components include the development of information technology and the procurement of new equipment leading to technological development. The expansion of research and production activities also entails significant human resource development.
